Wallace believed that African Americans were not equal, and he believed that they had no rights. He showed his beliefs strongly by using force to stop two african american students from entering The University of Alabama in 1963. He also showed this during the edmond and pettus bridge walk where he injured and also killed multiple civil rights activists. Wallace would later regret these actions for they prevent him from becoming president. They also lead to him being shot and paralyzed.
Wallace’s Work
When Wallace graduated from college he studied law for three years. He then entered the navy but soon quit do to injury. After he graduated he became a state legislature in alabama and expressed his opinion on civil rights. His beliefs soon got him elected as the governor of Alabama. After being governor for a few years he decided to run individually for president, but because of his racist beliefs almost all of the north voted against him and he lost. He attempted to run in the next election but once again his beliefs came back to haunt him.
Wallace for President
Wallace ran for president two times. He ran independently. His past racist remarks and actions prevented him from getting the majority of votes. Almost all of the north voted against him. Although he apologized for being racist he did not get many votes. He was shot in his third campaign. He once again was haunted by his racist remarks.

Voting rights marchers were violently confronted by police personnel on March 7, 1965. A day come to know by Bloody Sunday. George Wallace decided to punish the civil rights activist by injuring and killing multiple civil rights activist. His racist beliefs got in the way of his job and it ended badly in favor of the activist. Edmund and pettis bridge walk was a simple act of freedom of speech, and it turned into an act of terror.

Needless to say he was never the same again. He was paralyzed and would never walk again. Soon enough in 1998 he past away from heart failure. He lived to be 79 years old.
